For more than 20 years we have been living and loving the Backpacking Industry here in Cairns. literally hundreds of thousands of 'happy campers' have left us with the vow to return, and many have.

We love people and ensuring that they have a great stay here in Cairns. We have developed a particular formulae that puts smiles on faces of all who come and stay with us.

The atmsphere and vibe of Calypso is unmatched at any hostel in Australia, and for that matter, when you are chillin' here, to our groovin tunes, you could be anywhere in the world...

We have heaps of happy staff on hand 24 hours to ensure your stay is a good one. Travellers and Backpackers make up the bulk of the team, but we have our family that have been here forever, and risking computer screens worldwide we introduce:

 

	Buddha The grain fed man-cow, or should we cut to the chase and say 'THE LEGEND' of Calypso.. excluding Winston of course. The host with the most, Budds is the furniture and y'all missing out if ya haven't met him yet!
	Margo Bright, bubbly, beautiful,  but a little confused when it comes to national pride and sporting support. Italian/English/Australian, large part man eater. Someone say pizza?? Go the Wallabies~!
	Vee What can I say, the English rose for all the right reasons, the hostess with the mostess, and the medal winner of all time for putting up with Buddha! Go Vee!
	Tracy The controller of our out of controlness. That's why we are always in control... if that makes sense. Trace is the rock, the pillar, the maker of all things great @ Calypso.
	Axel His name, his choice, our not so little sponsorship child, Axel is more affectionatley know as B.O.A.T.S. ( bitch of all trades. )
